The Ensemble of National Dances Of Serbia KOLO​​​​​​​

Contra-posing the traditional folk costumes with delicate light compositions author creates a modern way of looking at the traditional culture of a nation. In almost abstract arrangements between the light and dark, history costumes become a desired contemporary fashion objects.

Photographs represent portraits of the dancers of the ensemble of national dances of Serbia KOLO. These dancers are all young people who have chosen for their job to be a preservation of tradition. By singing and performing traditional dances they travel around the world and present the rich culture of their country.

The main mission of the National Ensemble "KOLO" is to collect, adapt and save from oblivion folk dances and songs of Serbia.

This year they celebrate 71 years of work.
